Atlanta is the capitol of Georgia in the United States. Here are some interesting things to see and do there:
Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium is the biggest aquarium in the world. There are more than 60 exhibits and lots of marine animals like beluga whales, jellyfish, otters, whale sharks and more. You can even go through a special tunnel in the Ocean Voyager exhibit and be under the water for a different angle.
World of Coca-Cola
The World of Coca-Cola is dedicated to the popular soft drink that is now consumed all over the world. It was created in the 1800s by Dr. John S. Pemberton as a remedy for headache. Visitors can sample more than 60 different products produced by Coca Cola around the globe and see data on the bottling process, Coca Cola in pop culture and ad campaigns.
Inside CNN Studio Tour
CNN is one of the world’s most famous news channels and its headquarters is in Atlanta. Here, you can start on the world’s longest escalator and tour the studio to view a live newscast, see the control room, and learn how the blue screen works.
High Museum of Art
The High Museum of Art contains architecture by Richard Meier and Renzo Piano, as well as a section reserved for folk art from the 19th and 20th centuries. There are over 12,000 examples of artwork on display.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
This museum is encircled by 65 acres of forest, and includes a planetarium, observatory, IMAX Theater, and hands on exhibits like going inside a huge red oak tree clubhouse.
Atlanta Zoo
The Atlanta Zoo covers almost 40 acres and is located in Grant Park. It has over 1,000 animals and 200 species. The gorillas are the most popular, along with its giant panda bears.
