Acapulco, Mexico is a popular vacation destination. Here are the top three places to see and the top three things to do there:
See the Cliff Divers at La Quebrada
Don’t miss the death defying cliff diving at La Quebrada. It’s especially exciting if you go at night and watch it lit up by torches. These brave divers jump from hundreds of feet above the ocean and must match their dives with the waves.
See the Chapel of Peace
The Chapel of Peace overlooks the Acapulco Bay and gives tourists a fantastic view of the sea. It’s the highest point in the city and has a huge white cross that can be seen from nearly everywhere in Acapulco.
See the Palma Sola Archaeological Site
The Palma Sola Archaeological site, is about six kilometers from Old Acapulco inside the El Veladero national park. You can see 2,000 year old rock carvings and petroglyphs done by the city’s earliest known residents, the Yopes.
Go to the Beaches
Acapulco’s weather makes it superb for visiting some of its beautiful beaches. You can swim, go parasailing, go bungee jumping, participate in water sports, and more. Some of the favorite beaches include Condesa, Playa Caleta, Caletilla and Puerto Marques.
Go to La Costera
La Costera is Acapulco's main road that goes all around its coastline and the bay. You can find many of the city’s best shops, restaurants, nightclubs, shopping malls, and more. It’s an exciting and interesting area to explore and has much to offer tourists of all ages.
Go to Zocalo
Don’t miss out on Zocolo, the main public square in Acapulco. It is a pleasant and peaceful area to go in the evenings to shop, eat and more. Locals and tourists alike go there to meet and greet with their friends.
